Isaiah 38:14-16
GOD’S WORD Translation
14 I chirped like swallows and cranes.
I cooed like doves.
My eyes were tired from looking up to heaven.
I’ve suffered miserably, O Lord!
Please help me!
15 What can I say now that he has spoken to me?
He has done this.
I will be careful the rest of my life because of my bitter experience.
16 Lord, people live in spite of such things,
and I have the will to live in spite of them.
You give me health and keep me alive.
Isaiah 38:14-16
International Standard Version
14 Like a swallow or a crane I chirp,
I moan like a dove.
My eyes look weakly upward.
O Lord,[a] I am oppressed, so[b] stand up for me!
15 What can I say, so I tell myself,[c]
since he has done this to me?[d]
I will walk slowly all my years
because of my soul’s anguish.
16 “My Lord is against them, yet they live,
and among all of them who live is his spirit.[e]
Now you have restored me to health,
so let me live!
