The Servant’s Mission

¹⁷ And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased.’^(A)

¹¹ And a voice^(A) came from heaven:^(B) ‘You are my beloved^(C) Son;^(D) with you I am well-pleased.’^(E)

²² and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical appearance like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: ‘You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.’^(A)

²² Moses said:^[a] The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you.

The Trustworthy Prophetic Word

¹⁶ For we did not follow cleverly contrived myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ;^(A) instead, we were eye-witnesses of his majesty.^{(B) 17} For he received honour and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying ‘This is my beloved Son,^[a] with whom I am well-pleased! ’^{(C) 18} We ourselves heard this voice when it came from heaven while we were with him on the holy mountain.^(D)
