⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has made to light upon Him the guilt and iniquity of us all.^(A)

⁴ What man of you, if he has a hundred sheep and should lose one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness (desert) and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?

²⁵ For you were going astray like [so many] sheep, but now you have come back to the Shepherd and Guardian (^[a]the Bishop) of your souls.^(A)
