Jeremiah 12:7-13

New American Standard Bible

⁷ “I have ^(A)forsaken My house,
I have abandoned My inheritance;
I have handed the ^(B)beloved of My soul
Over to her enemies.
⁸ My inheritance has become to Me
Like a lion in the forest;
She has ^[a](C)roared against Me;
Therefore I have come to ^(D)hate her.
⁹ Is My inheritance like a speckled bird of prey to Me?
Are the ^(E)birds of prey against her on every side?
Go, gather all the ^(F)animals of the field,
Bring them to devour!
¹⁰ Many ^(G)shepherds have ruined My ^(H)vineyard,
They have ^(I)trampled down My field;
They have made My ^(J)pleasant field
A desolate wilderness.
^11 [b]It has been made a desolation;
Desolate, it ^(K)mourns ^[c]before Me;
The ^(L)whole land has been made desolate,
Because no one ^(M)takes it to heart.
¹² On all the ^[d](N)bare heights in the wilderness
Destroyers have come,
For the ^(O)sword of the Lord is devouring
From one end of the land even to the ^[e]other;
There is ^(P)no peace for ^[f]anyone.
¹³ They have ^(Q)sown wheat but have harvested thorns,
They have ^(R)strained themselves ^[g]to no profit.
So be ashamed of your ^(S)produce
Because of the ^(T)fierce anger of the Lord.”
