⁸ Israel was not faithful to me and she served other gods. So I sent her away, like a husband may send his wife away if she is not faithful to him. Judah saw what happened to Israel, but she was not afraid. Like a prostitute, she also went to find other gods that she could serve.

⁶ Gomer became pregnant again. She gave birth to a daughter. The Lord said to Hosea, ‘Call her Lo-Ruhamah.^[a] This is because I will not continue to show love to Israel's people. I will not forgive their sins any more.

⁹ Then the Lord said, ‘Call him Lo-Ammi.^[a] This is because you Israelites are not my people. I am not your God.’
