² ‘Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says about the shepherds who tend my people: You have scattered my flock,^(A) banished them, and have not attended to them.^(B) I am about to attend to you because of your evil acts’ – this is the Lord’s declaration.

³¹ I will punish him, his descendants, and his officers for their iniquity. I will bring on them, on the residents of Jerusalem, and on the people of Judah all the disaster, which I warned them about but they did not listen.” ’

²⁹ This will be a sign to you” – this is the Lord’s declaration – “that I will punish you in this place, so that you may know that my words of disaster concerning you will certainly come to pass.^(A)
