⁹ I am going to send for all the families of the north”^(A) – this is the Lord’s declaration – ”and send for my servant^(B) Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will bring them against this land, against its residents, and against all these surrounding nations, and I will completely destroy them and make them an example of horror^(C) and scorn, and ruins for ever.^(D)

¹³ For by myself I have sworn’^(A) – this is the Lord’s declaration – ‘Bozrah^[a] will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and an example for cursing, and all its surrounding cities will become ruins for ever.’^(B)

⁴ Though Edom says, ‘We have been devastated, but we will rebuild^[a] the ruins,’ the Lord of Armies says this: ‘They may build, but I will demolish. They will be called a wicked country^(A) and the people the Lord has cursed^[b] for ever.^(B)
