Jeremiah 5:29-31

²⁹Should I not punish them for these things?
This is the Lord’s declaration.
Should I not avenge myself^(A)
on such a nation as this?

³⁰“An appalling, horrible thing
has taken place in the land.^(B)
³¹The prophets prophesy falsely,^(C)
and the priests rule by their own authority.
My people love it like this.
But what will you do at the end of it?^(D)
