11 Now a man was sick—Lazarus from Bethany,(A) the village of Mary and her sister Martha.(B) Mary was the one who anointed the Lord with perfume and wiped his feet with her hair,(C) and it was her brother Lazarus who was sick. So the sisters sent a message to him: “Lord, the one you love is sick.”

The Death of Lazarus

11 Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany,(A) the village of Mary and her sister Martha.(B) (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.)(C) So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love(D) is sick.”

11 Era allora malato un certo Lazzaro di Betania, il villaggio di Maria e di Marta, sua sorella.

Or Maria era quella che unse di olio profumato il Signore e gli asciugò i piedi con i suoi capelli; e suo fratello Lazzaro era malato.
