²⁵ The one who loves his life will lose it,^(A) and the one who hates^(B) his life^(C) in this world will keep it for eternal life.

⁴⁸ When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and honoured the word of the Lord, and all who had been appointed to eternal life believed.

² because the law^[a] of the Spirit of life^(A) in Christ Jesus has set you^[b] free from the law^[c] of sin and death.^(B)
