⁶ For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness’,^(A) has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge^(B) of God’s glory^(C) in the face of Jesus Christ.

Paul’s Concern for the Galatians

⁸ But in the past, since you didn’t know God,^(A) you were enslaved to things^[a] that by nature are not gods. ⁹ But now, since you know God,^(B) or rather have become known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless^(C) elements?^(D) Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again?

¹⁵ To be sure, some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry,^(A) but others out of good will.

² I want their hearts to be encouraged^(A) and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of complete understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery^(B) – Christ.^[a](C)

⁸ The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
