²³ So this rumour^[a] spread to the brothers and sisters^(A) that this disciple would not die.^(B) Yet Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but, ‘If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? ’

¹⁶ ‘Brothers and sisters, it was necessary that the Scripture be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of David, foretold about Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.^(A)
