²⁸ As he was teaching in the temple,^(A) Jesus cried out, ‘You know me and you know where I am from. Yet I have not come on my own, but the one who sent me^(B) is true. You don’t know him;^(C)

¹⁴ ‘Even if I testify about myself,’ Jesus replied, ‘my testimony is true, because I know where I came from and where I’m going. But you don’t know where I come from or where I’m going.^(A)

⁵ But now I am going away^(A) to him who sent me, and not one of you asks me, “Where are you going? ”^(B)

¹¹ But the one who hates his brother or sister^(A) is in the darkness, walks in the darkness,^(B) and doesn’t know where he’s going,^(C) because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
