⁴² Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me,^(A) because I came from God^(B) and I am here. For I didn’t come on my own, but he sent me.

²⁷ For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved^(A) me and have believed that I came from God.^[a](B)

⁸ because I have given them the words you gave me.^(A) They have received them and have known for certain that I came from you.^(B) They have believed that you sent me.
