Jonah 2:4-6

⁴ And I said, “I have been banished^(A)
from your sight,^(B)
yet I will look^[a] once more
toward your holy temple.”^(C)
5 The water engulfed me up to the neck;^[b](D)
the watery depths overcame me;
seaweed was wrapped around my head.^(E)
6 I sank to the foundations of the mountains,^(F)
the earth’s gates shut behind me forever!^(G)
Then you raised my life^(H) from the Pit, Lord my God!^(I)
