26 Toen zwoer Jozua: "Vervloekt is de man die de stad Jericho herbouwt. Als hij de stad herbouwt, zal dat zijn oudste zoon het leven kosten. En als hij de poortdeuren inzet, zal dat zijn jongste zoon het leven kosten."[a]

“At the cost of his firstborn son
he will lay its foundations;
at the cost of his youngest
he will set up its gates.”(C)
