Joshua 23:7-9

⁷ so that you will not ^[a]associate with these nations, these which remain with you, or ^(A)mention the name of their gods, or ^(B)make anyone swear by them, or ^(C)serve them, or bow down to them. ⁸ But you are to cling to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day. ^9 (D)For the Lord has ^[b]driven out great and mighty nations from before you; and as for you, ^(E)no one has stood against you to this day.
