16 Men när tre dagar hade gått sedan de hade ingått förbund med dem, fick de höra att männen var deras grannar, ja, att de bodde mitt ibland dem. 17 Då bröt Israels barn upp och kom på tredje dagen till deras städer, och dessa var Gibeon, Kefira, Beerot och Kirjat-Jearim. 18 Men Israels barn angrep dem inte, eftersom menighetens furstar hade givit dem sin ed vid Herren, Israels Gud. Men hela menigheten knotade mot furstarna.

New International Version
16 Three days after they made the treaty with the Gibeonites, the Israelites heard that they were neighbors, living near(A) them. 17 So the Israelites set out and on the third day came to their cities: Gibeon, Kephirah, Beeroth(B) and Kiriath Jearim.(C) 18 But the Israelites did not attack them, because the leaders of the assembly had sworn an oath(D) to them by the Lord, the God of Israel.
