Judges 2:22-23

²² “so that through them I may test Israel, to see whether they will keep the way of the LORD, to walk in it, as their fathers kept it, or not.”

²³ So, the LORD left those nations, and did not immediately drive them out or deliver them into the hand of Joshua.
