Judges 8:33-35

³³ But when Gideon was dead, the children of Israel turned away and went a whoring after Baal and made Baal-Berith their god.

³⁴ And the children of Israel did not remember the LORD their God, Who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side.

³⁵ Nor did they show mercy on the House of Jerubbaal (Gideon), according to all the goodness which he had shown to Israel.
