⁵⁴ Then Abimelech hastily called his page who bore his harness and said to him, “Draw your sword and kill me, so that men do not say of me, ‘A woman killed him.’ And his page thrust him through, and he died.

⁵⁵ And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, each man departed to his own home.

⁵⁶ Thus, God reckoned for the wickedness of Abimelech, which he had done to his father in slaying his seventy brethren.
