Lamentations 3:28-30

²⁸Let him sit alone and be silent,^(A)
for God has disciplined^[a] him.
²⁹Let him put his mouth in the dust^(B)—
perhaps there is still hope.
³⁰Let him offer his cheek
to the one who would strike him;^(C)
let him be filled with disgrace.
