Leviticus 14

14 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

² “This is the Law of the Leper on the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought to the Priest.

³ “And the Priest shall go out of the camp. And the Priest shall examine him. And if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper,

⁴ “then the Priest shall command to take for the one who is cleansed: two sparrows (alive and clean) and cedarwood and a scarlet lace and hyssop.

⁵ “And the Priest shall command to have one of the birds killed, over pure water, in an earthen vessel.

⁶ “Afterward, he shall take the live sparrow — with the cedarwood and the scarlet lace and the hyssop — and shall dip them and the living sparrow in the blood of the slain sparrow, over the pure water.

⁷ “And seven times he shall sprinkle upon him who must be cleansed of his leprosy, and cleanse him. And he shall release the live sparrow into the open field.

⁸ “Then he who shall be cleansed shall wash his clothes and shave off all his hair and wash himself in water, so he shall be clean. After that, he shall come into the camp, and shall stay outside his tent for seven days.

⁹ “So, on the seventh day, he shall shave off all his hair, his head and his beard and his eyebrows. All his hair shall be shaved. And he shall wash his clothes and shall wash his flesh in water. So he shall be clean.

¹⁰ “Then, on the eighth day, he shall take two male lambs (without blemish) and a ewe lamb of a year old (without blemish) and three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour, mingled with oil (for a Meat Offering) and a pint of oil.

¹¹ “And the Priest who makes him clean shall bring the man who is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

¹² “Then the Priest shall take one lamb and offer him for a Trespass Offering, and the pint of oil, and shake them to and fro before the LORD.

¹³ “And he shall kill the lamb in the place where the Sin Offering and the Burnt Offering are killed: in the Holy Place. For as the Sin Offering is the Priest’s, so is the trespass offering. It is Most Holy.

¹⁴ “So, the Priest shall take of the blood of the Trespass Offering and put it upon the lobe of the right ear of him who shall be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

¹⁵ “The Priest shall also take from the pint of oil, and pour it into the palm of his left hand.

¹⁶ “And the Priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and sprinkle some of the oil with his finger, seven times, before the LORD.

¹⁷ “And the Priest shall put the rest of the oil that is in his hand upon the lobe of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, as was the blood of the Trespass Offering.

¹⁸ “But the Priest shall pour the remaining oil that is in his hand upon the head of him who is to be cleansed. So the Priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD.

¹⁹ “And the Priest shall offer the Burnt Offering and make an atonement for him who is to be cleansed of his uncleanness. Then afterward, he shall kill the Burnt Offering.

²⁰ “So, the Priest shall offer the Burnt Offering and the meat offering upon the Altar. And the Priest shall make an atonement for him. So he shall be clean.

²¹ “But if he is poor and not able, then he shall bring one lamb for a Trespass Offering (to be shaken) for his reconciliation, and a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil, for a Meat Offering, with a pint of oil.

²² “Also, he shall bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons (as he is able), one of which shall be a Sin Offering, and the other a Burnt Offering.

²³ “And on the eighth day, he shall bring them to the Priest at the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, for his cleansing before the LORD.

²⁴ “Then the Priest shall take the lamb of the Trespass Offering, and the pint of oil, and the Priest shall shake them to and fro before the LORD.

²⁵ “And he shall kill the lamb of the Trespass Offering. And the Priest shall take from the blood of the Trespass Offering and put it upon the lobe of his right ear that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

²⁶ “Also, the Priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand.

²⁷ “So, with his right finger, the Priest shall sprinkle some of the oil that is in his left hand, seven times before the LORD.

²⁸ “Then the Priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand upon the lobe of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the Trespass Offering.

²⁹ “But the rest of the oil that is in the Priest’s hand, he shall put upon the head of him who is to be cleansed, to make an atonement for him before the LORD.

³⁰ “Also, he shall present one of the turtledoves, or one of the young pigeons, as he is able.

³¹ “Such, I say, as he is able (the one for a Sin Offering and the other for a Burnt Offering), with the Meat Offering. So, the Priest shall make an atonement for him who is to be cleansed before the LORD.

³² “This is the Law of him who has the plague of leprosy; who is not able, in his cleansing, to offer the whole.”

³³ The LORD also spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

³⁴ “When you have come to the land of Canaan (which I give you in possession), if I send the plague of leprosy to a house in the land of your possession,

³⁵ “then he who owns the house shall come and tell the Priest, saying, ‘I think there is some plague in the house.’

³⁶ “Then the Priest shall command them to empty the house before the Priest goes into it, to see the plague, so that all that is in the house is not made unclean. And then shall the Priest go in to see the house.

³⁷ “And he shall examine the plague, to see if the plague is in the walls of the house, and if there are deep spots, greenish or reddish, which seem to be lower than the wall.

³⁸ “Then the Priest shall go out of the house, to the door of the house, and shall quarantine the house for seven days.

³⁹ “So, the Priest shall come again on the seventh day. And if he sees that the plague has increased in the walls of the house,

⁴⁰ “then the Priest shall command them to take away the stones in which the plague is. And they shall cast them into a foul place outside the city.

⁴¹ “Also, he shall have the house scraped inside, all around. And the dust that they have scraped off shall be poured outside the city in an unclean place.

⁴² “And they shall take other stones and put them in the places of those stones. And they shall take other mortar with which to plaster the house.

⁴³ “But if the plague comes again and breaks out in the house, after he has taken away the stones, and after he has scraped and plastered the house,

⁴⁴ “then the Priest shall come and see. And if the plague grows in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house. It is unclean.

⁴⁵ “And he shall tear down the house, with the stones of it, and its timber, and all the mortar of the house; and he shall carry them out of the city to an unclean place.

⁴⁶ “Moreover, he who goes into the house while it is quarantined, he shall be unclean until the evening.

⁴⁷ “He, also, who sleeps in the house shall wash his clothes. He, likewise, who eats in the house shall wash his clothes.

⁴⁸ “But if the Priest shall come and see that the plague has spread no further in the house, after the house is plastered, the Priest shall pronounce the house clean. For the plague is healed.

⁴⁹ “Then he shall take two sparrows, cedarwood, scarlet and hyssop, to purify the house.

⁵⁰ “And he shall kill one sparrow, over pure water, in an earthen vessel.

⁵¹ “And he shall take the cedarwood and the hyssop and the scarlet with the live sparrow and dip them in the blood of the slain Sparrow, and in the pure water, and sprinkle the house seven times.

⁵² “So shall he cleanse the house with the blood of the sparrow, and with the pure water, and with the live sparrow, and with the cedarwood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet.

⁵³ “Afterward, he shall release the live sparrow out of the town into the broad fields. So shall he make atonement for the house. And it shall be clean.

⁵⁴ “This is the Law for every plague of leprosy and black spot,

⁵⁵ “and of the leprosy of the garment, and of the house,

⁵⁶ “and of the swelling, and of the scab, and of the white spot.

⁵⁷ “This is the Law of the Leprosy, to teach when a thing is unclean and when it is clean.”
