¹⁸ Do not take revenge^(A) or bear a grudge against members of your community, but love your neighbour as yourself;^(B) I am the Lord.

¹² Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.^(A)

³⁷ He said to him, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.^{[a](A) 38} This is the greatest and most important^[b] command. ³⁹ The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.^{[c](B) 40} All the Law and the Prophets depend^[d] on these two commands.’^(C)

³⁴ ‘I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another.
