⁴⁸ But the one who did not know and did what deserved^(A) punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be expected.^[a](B)

Not Peace but Division

⁴⁹ “I came^(C) to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already set ablaze! ⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to undergo,^(D) and how it consumes^(E) me until it is finished!^(F)
