²⁴ For as the lightning flashes from horizon to horizon and lights up the sky, so the Son of Man will be in his day.^(A)

⁵ hand that one over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh,^(A) so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.^(B)

¹⁴ just as you have partially understood us – that we are your reason for pride,^(A) just as you also are ours^(B) in the day of our^[a] Lord Jesus.^(C)

¹⁶ by holding firm to the word^(A) of life. Then I can boast^(B) in the day of Christ^(C) that I didn’t run or labour for nothing.

²² But now he has reconciled you by his physical body through his death,^(A) to present you holy, faultless,^(B) and blameless before him^(C) –
