¹¹ Today in the city of David a Saviour^(A) was born for you, who is the Messiah,^(B) the Lord.^(C)

The Lamb of God

²⁹ The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God,^(A) who takes away the sin^(B) of the world!

¹² There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved.’^(A)

³¹ God exalted this man to his right hand as ruler and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.^(A)

²³ ‘From this man’s descendants, as he promised, God brought to Israel^(A) the Saviour, Jesus.^[a]

³⁸ Therefore, let it be known to you, brothers and sisters, that through this man forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you.^{(A) 39} Everyone who believes is justified^[a] through him from everything that you could not be justified from through the law of Moses.^(B)
