² The chief priests and the scribes were looking for a way to put him to death,^(A) because they were afraid of the people.^(B)

³ Then^(C) Satan entered Judas,^(D) called Iscariot,^(E) who was numbered among the Twelve. ⁴ He went away and discussed with the chief priests and temple police^(F) how he could hand him over^(G) to them.
