²⁷ For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.^(A)

¹³ You call me Teacher and Lord – and you are speaking rightly, since that is what I am. ¹⁴ So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.^{(A) 15} For I have given you an example,^(B) that you also should do just as I have done for you.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich,^(A) for your sake he became poor,^(B) so that by his poverty you might become rich.
