¹² Peter,^(A) however, got up and ran to the tomb. When he stooped to look in, he saw only the linen cloths.^[a](B) So he went away, amazed^(C) at what had happened.

¹³ Now^(D) that same day two of them were on their way to a village called Emmaus, which was about eleven kilometres^[b](E) from Jerusalem.^{(F) 14} Together they were discussing everything that had taken place.
