2 When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place.^(A)

⁴ Then they were all filled^(A) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues,^[a] as the Spirit enabled them.^(B)

³³ With great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them.^(A)

8 Saul agreed with putting him to death.

On that day a severe persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout the land of Judea and Samaria.^(A)
