²² But perceiving their thoughts, Jesus replied to them, ‘Why are you thinking this in your hearts?^[a]

¹⁵ And he told them, ‘You are the ones who justify^(A) yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts.^(B) For what is highly admired by people is revolting^(C) in God’s sight.

²⁵ and because he did not need anyone to testify about man; for he himself knew what was in man.^(A)
