Love Your Enemies

²⁷ ‘But I say to you who listen: Love your enemies, do what is good to those who hate you,

³⁴ Then Jesus said, “Father,^(A) forgive^(B) them, because they do not know what they are doing.”^[a](C) And they divided his clothes and cast lots.^(D)

⁶⁰ He knelt down and cried out with a loud voice,^(A) ‘Lord, do not hold this sin against them! ’ And after saying this, he fell asleep.^(B)

²⁰ But

¹² we labour, working^(A) with our own hands.^(B) When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

²³ when he was insulted, he did not insult in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten but entrusted himself to the one who judges^(A) justly.
