²¹ But he replied to them, ‘My mother and my brothers are those who hear and do the word of God.’^(A)

²⁸ He said, ‘Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God^(A) and keep it.’^(B)

¹¹ He stayed there for a year and a half, teaching the word of God among them.

²¹ Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent,^[a] humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.^(A)

²³ because you have been born again^(A) – not of perishable seed^(B) but of imperishable – through the living and enduring word of God.^(C)
