Mark 10:2-9
Holman Christian Standard Bible
2 Some Pharisees(A) approached Him to test(B) Him. They asked, “Is it lawful(C) for a man to divorce(D) his wife?”(E)
3 He replied to them, “What did Moses(F) command you?”
4 They said, “Moses permitted us to write divorce papers(G) and send her away.”(H)
5 But Jesus told them, “He wrote this command for you because of the hardness of your hearts.(I) 6 But from the beginning(J) of creation(K) God[a] made them male and female.(L)[b]
7 For this reason a man will leave(M)
his father and mother
[and be joined to his wife],[c]
8 and the two will become one flesh.(N)[d]
So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate.”(O)

New International Version
2 Some Pharisees(A) came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
3 “What did Moses command you?” he replied.
4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”(B)
5 “It was because your hearts were hard(C) that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied. 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’[a](D) 7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,[b] 8 and the two will become one flesh.’[c](E) So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
