The Question about the Messiah

³⁵ While^(A) Jesus was teaching in the temple, he asked,^(B) ‘How can the scribes^(C) say that the Messiah^(D) is the son of David?^(E)

³⁷ During^(A) the day, he was teaching in the temple,^(B) but in the evening he would go out and spend the night on what is called the Mount of Olives.^(C)

¹⁹ Didn’t Moses^(A) give you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law.^(B) Why are you trying to kill me? ’

An Adulteress Forgiven

² At dawn he went to the temple^(A) again, and all the people were coming to him.^(B) He sat down^(C) and began to teach them.

²⁰ ‘I have spoken openly to the world,’ Jesus answered him. ‘I have always taught in the synagogue^(A) and in the temple,^(B) where all the Jews gather, and I haven’t spoken anything in secret.
