¹⁵ But others said, ‘He’s Elijah.’^(A) Still others said, ‘He’s a prophet, like one of the prophets from long ago.’^(B)

¹⁶ Then fear^[a] came over everyone,^(A) and they glorified God,^(B) saying, ‘A great prophet has risen among us,’^(C) and ‘God has visited^[b] his people.’^(D)

³³ Yet it is necessary that I^(A) travel today, tomorrow, and the next day, because it is not possible for a prophet^(B) to perish^(C) outside of Jerusalem.

¹⁹ ‘What things? ’ he asked them.

So they said to him, ‘The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth,^(A) who was a prophet^(B) powerful in action and speech^(C) before God and all the people,^(D)

²¹ ‘What then? ’ they asked him. ‘Are you Elijah? ’^(A)

‘I am not,’ he said.

‘Are you the Prophet? ’^(B)

‘No,’ he answered.

¹⁹ ‘Sir,’ the woman replied, ‘I see that you are a prophet.

¹⁴ When the people saw the sign^[a] he had done, they said, ‘This truly is the Prophet^(A) who is to come^(B) into the world.’^(C)
