Ninyi ni Kama Chumvi na Nuru
(Mk 9:50; 4:21; Lk 14:34-35; 8:16)
13 Mnahitajika kama chumvi inavyohitajiwa na wale waliopo duniani. Lakini chumvi ikipoteza ladha yake, haiwezi kufanywa chumvi tena. Haina manufaa yo yote isipokuwa hutupwa nje na kukanyagwa na watu.
14 Ninyi ni nuru inayong'aa ili ulimwengu uweze kuiona. Ni kama mji uliojengwa juu ya kilima unavyoonekana wazi. 15 Watu hawawashi taa na kuificha kwenye chungu. Bali huiweka kwenye kinara cha taa ili nuru iangaze kwa kila mtu.

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.(A)
14 “You are the light of the world.(B) A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.(C)
