⁷ Then Herod secretly summoned the wise men, and he ascertained from them the exact time of the star’s appearance,

⁸ after which he sent them on to Bethlehem, saying: “Go forth and search diligently for the child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I can go and pay him homage.”
