Jezi kòmanse ministè li nan Galile

(Mak 1:14-15; Lik 4:14-15)

12 Lè Jezi tande yo mete Jan nan prizon, li retounen nan rejyon Galile a. 13 Men, li pa t rete Nazarèt; li te pito al rete nan yon vil yo rele Kapènawòm, ki te toupre lak Galile a, sou teritwa Zabilon ak Neftali. 14 Sa te rive kon sa pou fè nou konprann pi byen pwofesi pwofèt Ezayi a:

15 “Ouvri zòrèy nou pou n koute, teritwa Zabilon ak teritwa Neftali,
    teritwa ki chita toupre lanmè,
    teritwa ki chita lòtbò rivyè Jouden an.
    Galile, kote anpil etranje rete:
16 Pèp ki t ap viv nan fènwa a
    te wè yon gwo limyè klere.
Limyè a klere
    sila yo k ap viv anba lonbray lanmò.”(A)

17 Depi lè sa a, Jezi te kòmanse preche mesaj li a. Li t ap di moun yo: “Chanje direksyon lavi nou, paske wayòm Bondye a rive sou nou.”

Jesus Begins to Preach

12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,(A) he withdrew to Galilee.(B) 13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum,(C) which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfill(D) what was said through the prophet Isaiah:

15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
    the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
    Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people living in darkness
    have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
    a light has dawned.”[a](E)

17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven(F) has come near.”
