Commissioning the Twelve

10 Summoning his twelve disciples,^(A) he gave them authority over unclean spirits, to drive them out and to heal every^[a] disease and sickness.^[b](B)

¹⁸ Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.^(A)

⁸ And I looked, and there was a pale green^[a] horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following after him.^(A) They were^[b] given authority^(B) over a fourth of the earth, to kill by the sword, by famine, by plague, and by the wild animals of the earth.^(C)
