¹⁹ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, “Look, a glutton and a drunkard,^(A) a friend of tax collectors and sinners! ”^(B) Yet wisdom is vindicated^[a] by her deeds.’^[b]

¹⁰ But so that you may know that the Son of Man^(A) has authority^(B) on earth to forgive sins’^(C) – he told the paralytic –

¹² And there was a lot of murmuring about him among the crowds. Some were saying, ‘He’s a good^(A) man.’ Others were saying, ‘No, on the contrary, he’s deceiving^(B) the people.’

²⁴ So a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him, ‘Give glory^(A) to God.^(B) We know that this man is a sinner.’
