³⁶ I tell you that on the day of judgement^(A) people will have to account^(B) for every careless^[a] word they speak.^[b]

³¹ because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.’^(A)

²⁵ not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other,^(A) and all the more as you see the day approaching.

⁹ then the Lord knows how to rescue^(A) the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgement,^(B)

¹⁷ In this, love is made complete with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgement,^(A) because as he is, so also are we in this world.^(B)
