⁴⁰ For as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish^[a](A) for three days and three nights,^(B) so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

His Death and Resurrection Predicted

²¹ From^(A) then on Jesus began to point out to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and be raised the third day.^(B)

⁶³ and said, ‘Sir, we remember that while this deceiver was still alive he said, “After three days I will rise again.”^(A)
