⁵⁴ He went to his home town^(A) and began to teach them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, ‘Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?^(B)

³⁰ But since the Pharisees and experts in the law^(A) had not been baptised by him, they rejected the plan of God for themselves.^(B))

¹⁸ I’ll get up, go to my father, and say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned^(A) against heaven^(B) and in your sight.

²¹ The son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I’m no longer worthy to be called your son.”

²⁷ John responded, ‘No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.
