The Leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees

16 The Pharisees and Sadducees approached,^(A) and tested him, asking him to show them a sign from heaven.^(B)

³⁰ Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth^[a] will mourn;^[b] and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.^(A)

¹¹ There will be violent earthquakes,^(A) and famines and plagues^(B) in various places, and there will be terrifying sights and great signs from heaven.^(C)

The Woman, the Child, and the Dragon

12 A great sign^[a] appeared in heaven:^(A) a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.^(B)

³ Then another sign^[a] appeared in heaven: There was a great fiery red dragon^(A) having seven heads and ten horns,^(B) and on its heads were seven crowns.^[b]

¹³ It also performs great signs,^(A) even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in front of people.^(B)
