⁵ And whoever welcomes^[a] one child like this in my name welcomes me.

¹⁶ Whoever listens to you listens to me.^(A) Whoever rejects you rejects me.^(B) And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.’^(C)

²⁰ Truly I tell you, whoever receives anyone I send receives me, and the one who receives^(A) me receives him who sent me.’

¹⁴ You did not despise or reject me though my physical condition was a trial for you.^[a] On the contrary, you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus himself.
