¹⁵ After placing his hands on them, he went on from there.

²³ and begged him earnestly, ‘My little daughter is dying. Come and lay your hands on^(A) her so that she can get well^[a](B) and live.’

² When the Sabbath^(A) came, he began to teach^(B) in the synagogue,^(C) and many who heard him were astonished. ‘Where did this man get these things? ’ they said. ‘What is this wisdom^(D) that has been given to him, and how are these miracles^(E) performed by his hands?

⁵ He was not able to do a miracle^(A) there, except that he laid his hands on^(B) a few ill^(C) people and healed^(D) them.

²³ He took the blind man by the hand and brought him out of the village. Spitting^(A) on his eyes and laying his hands on^(B) him, he asked him, ‘Do you see anything? ’

⁴⁰ When the sun was setting, all those who had anyone ill with various diseases brought them to him. As he laid his hands on each one of them, he healed them.^(A)
