sit on the ground in silence.
They have thrown dust on their heads^(A)
and put on sackcloth.
The young women of Jerusalem

³⁰ Because of you, they raise their voices
and cry out bitterly.
They throw dust on their heads;^(A)
they roll in ashes.

Woe, woe, the great city,^(B)
where all those who have ships on the sea
became rich from her wealth;
for in a single hour she was destroyed.
