Numbers 21:22-24

²² “Let me go through your land. We will not turn aside into the fields, nor into the vineyards, nor drink of the waters of the wells. We will go by the king’s way until we are past your country.”

²³ But Sihon gave Israel no license to pass through his country. Rather, Sihon assembled all his people and went out against Israel into the wilderness. And he came to Jahaz and fought against Israel.

²⁴ But Israel struck him with the edge of the sword and conquered his land, from Arnon to the Jabbok, up to the children of Ammon (for the border of the children of Ammon was strong).
